Sebagaimana dikabarkan banyak media, Hamas melakukan serangan ke Israel di Jalur Gaza pada 7 Oktober 2023 lalu.
Menjawab keadaan tersebut, Israel sehari setelahnya melakukan serangan balasan melalui udara menuju kompleks perumahan, terowongan, masjid, rumah para petinggi Hamas di Gaza.
Akibat memanasnya kembali konflik yang telah berlangsung puluhan tahun tersebut, layanan kesehatan Palestina dan Israel melaporkan banyak korban jiwa berjatuhan dari kedua belah pihak.
Pada 10 Oktober 2023, kurang lebih 900 orang tewas dan 2.600 luka-luka dari Israel. Di sisi lain, 678 orang tewas dan 3.700 luka-luka dari Palestina.
