Ada 15 episode G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero yang bisa kita nikmati. Kelimabelas episode tersebut terbagi menjadi tiga bagian miniseri bertajuk The M.A.S.S. Devices, The Revenge of Cobra, dan The Pyramid of Darkness.
G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero merupakan tim tentara elite yang memiliki musuh organisasi kejahatan bernama Cobra. Organisasi Cobra memiliki keinginan untuk menguasai dunia. Mereka memiliki kekuatan untuk mengendalikan cuaca, menciptakan senjata yang tak terhentikan, dan merekayasa para pejuang super secara genetis.
Selain dalam bentuk animasi, G.I. Joe juga telah dibuat dalam bentuk live action. Pada tahun 2009, Paramount Pictures merilis G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
Selama penayangannya, film tersebut mendapat penghasilan secara total lebih dari 302 juta dolar Amerika Serikat (AS), dilansir dari Box Office Mojo. Sejumlah 152 juta dolar berasal dari penghasilan penayangan secara internasional.
Sementara pada tahun 2013, Paramount merilis film G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Selama penyangannya, film tersebut mendapat penghasilan lebih dari 375 juta dolar. Sejumlah 253 juta dolar di antaranya merupakan penghasilan penayangan secara internasional.
