tirto.id - Pada tahun 2017 lalu, DJ asal Skotlandia, Calvin Harris merilis lagu "Feels" yang berkolaborasi dengan artis lain seperti Katy Perry, Pharrel Williams dan Big Sean. Dalam lagu ini, Katy Perry menyanyikan lirik yang dalam dan bermakna: "Don't be afraid to catch feels."
Lagu ini terasa dari karya-karya dance elektronik yang biasa dimainkan oleh Harris, karena terasa lebih santai. Orang mungkin akan mendengarkan lagu ini sambil menyesap piña colada di tepi kolam renang daripada di lantai dansa yang penuh dengan tubuh berkeringat, demikian seperti dilansir Firstpost.
Kolaborasi empat artis tersebut tampaknya mencoba menyalurkan nuansa Hawaii, yang dengan kepekaan berbeda dalam mengerjakan lagu, hasil akhir bisa berjalan baik. Sejak dirilis pada 26 Juni 2017, lagu tersebut sudah ditonton lebih dari 546 juta kali di Youtube pada Rabu, (26/8/2020).
Calvin Harris adalah seorang DJ, penyanyi, penulis lagu dan produser rekaman asal Skotlandia. Pemilik nama lengkap Adam Richard Wiles itu telah mengeluarkan album studio debutnya pada Juni 2007 berjudul I Created Disco.
Selain dengan Katy Perry, pria kelahiran 17 Januari 1984 ini juga sudah berkolaborasi dengan artis papan atas lainnya seperti Rihanna, Dua Lipa dan masih banyak artis lainnya.
Calvin Harris juga pernah dinobatkan sebagai DJ dengan berpenghasilan tertinggi selama lima tahun berturut-turut oleh majalah Forbes, mengalahkan DJ Belanda Tiesto dan pendatang baru The Chainsmokers.
Harris berhasil meraup 48,5 juta dolar AS dalam kurun Juni 2016 hingga Juni 2017, dari pertunjukan hingga produksi lagu seperti "Feels" dari Katy Perry dan Pharrell Williams.
