Girl grup SM Entertainment ini merilis mini album keenam mereka “Queendom” dan video musik untuk lagu judulnya pada Senin (16/8/2021).
Lagu Queendom dikomposisikan oleh minGtion, Anne Judith Stokke Wik, Moa “Cazzi Opeia” Carlebecker, dan Ellen Berg.
“Queendom” adalah lagu pop dance yang menyegarkan dengan hook adiktif yang lebih menonjolkan vokal cerah para anggotanya.
Lirik Queendom ditulis oleh Jo Yoon Kyung. Arti makna lagu ini adalah membagikan pesan bahwa kita semua adalah "ratu" dalam hidup kita dan bahwa kita bersinar lebih terang saat kita bersatu.
Sebelumnya, menjelang comeback, salah satu personelnya, Wendy, berbagi bahwa dia sama bersemangat dan gugupnya dengan comeback seperti penggemar mereka.
"Ini adalah pertama kalinya dalam satu tahun delapan bulan video grup kami diunggah," katanya sebagaimana dikutipSoompi.
Comeback resmi terakhir Red Velvet adalah pada bulan Desember 2019, ketika grup tersebut merilis bagian terakhir dari seri album “The ReVe Festival” mereka.
"Saya mengirim pesan kepada para anggota yang mengatakan bahwa itu terasa aneh. Ada banyak penggemar yang mengatakan bahwa jantung mereka berdetak lebih cepat. Karena mereka menunggu lama, kami akan kembali dengan citra yang bagus dan musik yang bagus," lanjutnya.
