Dilansir Variety pada Rabu (10/2/2021), kategori ini antara lain film dokumenter, dokumenter pendek, film internasional, tata rias dan rambut, skor orisinal, lagu orisinal, film pendek animasi, film pendek aksi langsung dan efek visual.
Pemungutan suara untuk daftar pilihan selesai pada 5 Februari, dan sisanya akan dilanjutkan ke pemungutan suara resmi tahap pertama, yang akan berlangsung pada 5-9 Maret.
Nominasi Oscar akan diumumkan pada 15 Maret, dengan pertunjukan dijadwalkan pada 25 April. Berikut adalah sembilan kategori untuk Oscar mendatang.
