Recording Academy selaku penyelenggara Grammys memutuskan untuk mengundang 900 pencipta musik dari latar belakang berbeda sebagai penilai.
Hal tersebut dilakukan juga untuk menjadikan keanggotaan Recording Academy lebih mencerminkan komunitas beragam yang membantu menjadikan industri musik sebagai ruang yang lebih inklusif.
900 orang tersebut nantinya akan memiliki kesempatan untuk membuat perubahan dengan berpartisipasi dalam putaran final pemungutan suara untuk Penghargaan Grammy Awards ke 61 tahun ini.
