tirto.id - BTS meraih 8 penghargaan dalam Gaon Chart Music Awards 2022 yang digelar di Seoul pada Kamis (27/1/2022) waktu Korea Selatan.
Dalam perhelatan Gaon Chart Music Awards ke-11 tersebut, BTS membawa pulang 8 trofi untuk album dan lagu yang sukses dirilis tahun 2021.
Dikutip dari Korea Herald, boy grup beranggotakan tujuh orang itu memenangkan penghargaan terbanyak tahun ini di antara semua penyanyi, termasuk kategori artis terbaik, musik digital, dan album fisik.
Penghargaan diberikan kepada 12 lagu digital yang menduduki puncak tangga lagu setiap bulan dan empat album fisik yang paling banyak terjual setiap triwulan antara 1 Desember 2020, dan 30 November 2021.
Berdasarkan statistik chart, “Butter” dan “Permission to Dance” terpilih sebagai lagu terbaik untuk Mei dan Juli 2021, sementara “My Universe”, single kolaborasi bersama Coldplay, terpilih sebagai yang terbaik.
Lain itu, lagu untuk bulan september "Butter" juga dipilih sebagai album fisik terbaik kuarter ketiga.
“Kami akan membalas cinta dengan lagu-lagu bagus dan penampilan luar biasa di masa depan,” kata BTS dalam pidato kemenangan penghargaan musik tahunan tersebut.
Dikutip dari Antara, IU meraih kemenangan terbanyak kedua tahun ini. Pelantun "Celebrity," "Lilac" dan "Strawberry Moon" itu memenangkan kategori lagu terbaik untuk Januari, Maret, dan Oktober 2021.
UI juga menerima dua penghargaan tambahan untuk penulis lirik dan produksi rekaman terbaik.
Selain BTS dan IU, Taeyeon dari grup idola K-pop Girls' Generation, SHINee, Kang Daniel, Brave Girls, Red Velvet, Twice, IZ*ONE, NCT Dream, dan NCT 127 juga membawa pulang penghargaan dalam kategori artis terbaik.
Penyanyi Lee Mu-jin dan Lee Chan-won memenangkan penghargaan rookie of the year melalui karya "Scent of the Day" dan "Convenience Store".
