“Backburner” merupakan salah satu single terbaru NIKI yang ditulis oleh dirinya sendiri dan diproduseri bersama Ethan Gruska. Lagu ini merupakan bagian dari album bertajuk Nicole yang dirilis pada 12 Agustus 2022.
Album bertajuk Nicole tersebut terdiri dari 12 lagu, salah satunya lagu berjudul “High School in Jakarta”. Seperti dilansir akun YouTube resmi NIKI, lagu tersebut menjadi paling populer. Musik video lagu yang berkisah tentang masa sekolah NIKI di Jakarta itu berhasil ditonton sebanyak 26 juta kali.
Selain lagu “Backburner” dan “High School in Jakarta”, masih terdapat 10 lagu lainnya dalam album terbaru NIKI ini.
