Acara tahunan video game paling bergengsi itu diadakan di Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, Amerika Serikat dengan puluhan nominasi seperti Games of The Year, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art, dan lain-lain.
Seperti dilansir Bussiness Insider, yang masuk dalam lebih dari 3 nominasi The Games Award tahun ini adalah ‘Death Stranding’, ‘Fortnite’, ‘Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice’, ‘Apex Legend’, dan ‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’.
Pemenang dapat dipilih oleh para fans mereka untuk setiap kategori permainan di situs resmi web acara tersebut. Namun, keputusan akhir tetap berada di tangan para juri The Game Award. Dewan penasehat ajang penghargaan ini berasal dari para perusahaan game besar termasuk Xbox, Nintendo, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Valve, dan Tencent.
